Finally saw The Dark Knight with kasmot, hahaha. Hindi na talaga ako nanood nung opening week dahil last time na nanood kaming magkapatid sa opening day (HP Goblet of Fire), na-stress lang ako. Hindi ko rin naman talaga pinagkahintay-hintay tong movie na to dahil hindi naman ako Batman fanatic. Nung una, na-intriga lang talaga ako sa critiques on Heath Ledger's performance, but after reading movie reviews in peyups.com, I decided that The Dark Knight is one movie I can't afford to miss. I stopped reading reviews before I got to the spoilers -- knowing that this was the darkest Batman film to date was enough to have me see it on the big screen.

For a movie that ran for over two solid hours, I didn't find The Dark Knight boring in any way. True, the movie was overhyped, but it garnered a lot of positive reviews and it did not disappoint. From the beginning to the end, the movie was sinister; demented in ways other than just the protagonist - antagonist plot. This was the kind of movie you'd still be thinking about even after the cinema lights have gone back up and even after you've left the theater. Ito yung movie na pagtayo ng audience paalis ng sinehan, damang-dama kong haunted sila nung istorya, parang zombies na naglalakad nang tahimik, dead air accompanied by the music of the closing credits. Ganun ang impact.

No further comments on Christian Bale as Batman. He is the Batman, and he is the story. He may not have had lines that stuck to my head, but he didn't need that.

Obviously, I enjoyed watching "The Dark Knight" and I plan on seeing it again on the big screen. Kasi diba, the first time you watch a movie is just for entertainment. The next time you see it is for actually absorbing and assessing the story. But I'd probably see it again, simply because I want to. And it's worth another viewing.
